Who can I contact if something is broken in my room or the shared rooms?
Please contact the janitors. You can reach them via hausmeister@kullenhof.de. Please always provide them with a concrete description of the problem as well as your room number.
Can I sublet my room?
Unfortunately, the STW has decided that there can be no subletting at the moment. This will probably change sometime in the future, but as it stands now, there is no way to sublet your room. You can however request a break in your contract, which allows you to extend your contract by the time that you were away. This works much like subletting, and any questions can be sent to wohnen@stw.rwth-aachen.de.
How many people live on each floor?
Generally, 8-16 people live on each floor.
How much is rent?
Rooms with a shared bathroom cost 223-244€ per month, rooms with their own bathroom cost 265-278€ per month.
How big are the rooms?
Rooms with a shared bath are 14-15 square meters, rooms with their own bath are 15-17 square meters.
Do the rooms have their own bathroom?
Our dorm has two types of rooms:
- "Single rooms" (in total: 322) have a washbasin in the room Zimmer and shared showers and toilets on each floor.
- "Singe rooms with bath" (in total: 157) have their own bath with shower and toilet.
In both cases, you'll share the kitchen with your flatmates.
Where can I apply for a room?
You can apply via the application portal of Studierendenwerk Aachen.
Where and when can I cancel my room?
You must submit your notice of termination to your landlord, usually the Studierendenwerk Aachen. The notice period is usually two months. Please always pay attention to the exact conditions in your tenancy agreement.
